Gonzalez Calvillo, September 22nd, 2023.- The Second Chamber of the Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación (“SCJN“), published two draft rulings of amparo appeals issued by two different justices (Alberto Pérez Dayan and Javier Laynez Potisek) (“Draft Rulings”) through which it is proposed to determine the unconstitutionality of certain legal provisions of the amendments to the Ley de la Industria Eléctrica (“Electric Industry Law or LIE“), published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación (“Official Gazette”) on March 9, 2021 (“Decree“).
The Draft Rulings are scheduled to be discussed by the SCJN on September 27, 2023.
