Pagina-web-1

Gonzalez Calvillo, September 21st, 2023.- Mexico’s Ministry of Finance (“SHCP”) launched the Sustainable Finance Mobilization Strategy (the “Strategy”). This is a public financial policy guide seeking to lay the groundwork for the mobilization of sustainable financing in Mexico, as well as to accelerate actions to meet environmental commitments and the UN 2030 sustainable development goals.

The Strategy is presented after Mexico’s Sustainable Taxonomy was launched by the SHCP last March. This is an instrument used as a public financial policy whose objective is classifying sustainable activities and encourage the process of rating investments from a sustainability perspective.

The Strategy is split into three fundamental pillars which are described in detail further down below. In broad terms, these points include 1) sustainable public financial management; 2) mobilization of sustainable financing 3) covers transversal actions focused on promoting gender equality.
