About

Gustavo has more than nine years of experience in antitrust and regulation, with extensive expertise in trial procedures, gun jumping M&A, and antitrust investigations. His areas of focus include collusion, abuse of dominant position, essential facilities, and barriers to competition across various sectors and industries such as telecommunications, energy, financial services, transportation, real estate, and public purchases of medical supplies.

Prior to joining González Calvillo, Gustavo worked at the General Direction of Legal Affairs of the Federal Economic Competition Commission and the Investigative Authority of the Federal Telecommunications Institute. He also completed a professional internship at the National Commission on Markets and Competition in Spain.

Gustavo holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Economics, Regulation, and Competition from the University of Barcelona. Additionally, he earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Economic Law from the Universidad Panamericana and obtained his law degree (J.D. equivalent) from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
