Felix is a senior associate at the firm and has vast experience on foreign trade and customs, regulatory consulting, and strategic legal protection. He is well versed in constitutional and administrative litigation against tax and administrative authorities, providing comprehensive advice across practice areas.
He has represented and counseled several companies in the energy, footwear, textile, pharmaceutical, automotive, and chemical sectors in multiple regulatory and customs matters aimed at mitigating liabilities arising from potential faults or wrongdoings committed during these companies’ regular operation. Felix’s recent work includes representing an important health sector company on an MXN $1.5 billion liability triggered by anomalies during the import process of goods and from compliance with health regulations.
Prior to joining the firm, Felix worked as foreign associate at Nishimura & Asahi in Tokyo, where he prepared different scenarios and strategies for Japanese companies seeking to invest in Mexico and Latin America. Felix also worked in the Tax Administration Service of the Mexican Ministry of Finance as an officer in charge of Special Operations conducted by Mexican customs.
He has authored articles and publications related to international trade, customs, and energy, including “Mexico’s real estate system and how to use it for energy projects (oil and gas, electricity)” published by Japan’s Shojihomu Portal. He holds a law degree (JD equivalent) from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Tax from Universidad Panamericana.
