Our handcrafted Saltillo Tiles are a great way to enhance your floor or wall decor. Once installed you can seal them for a shiny look. Available in 8″ x 8″, 9.8″ x 9.8″ and 11.8″ x 11.8″ or we can also customize to any size you may need. Price is per tile.

Material: Clay pottery dug from the San Felipe area in Central Mexico then cured and dried for several days. Once they are hand shaped in the pits they are burned in high temp ovens, after that they let to cool down for several days.

- Spanish Terracotta tiles are fired at temperatures ranging from 1180 to 1200 degrees centigrade. Highly resistant due to its dense body and are almost non-absorbent. Moisture Absorption ≤ 5.3%
- Static Coefficient of Friction is greater than .90 (SCOF ≥ .90)
- Breaking Strength ≥ 365 lbf
- Tiles and grout must be sealed with a penetrating sealer that will form an invisible barrier resistant to moisture and stains.

Packing Details: We use a professional packing company for all our shipments, your art will go very well protected with at least 2″ of foam all around, bubble wrapped and when necessary double boxed. Rest assure it will reach you safe and sound. We have a record of minimum broken pieces if any.
Our highly skilled Artisan Juan Rodriguez, comes from a 3rd Generation on the Art of Encaustic Cement tiles. His detailed passion, understanding of the materials and the love he put on each piece is reflected in the quality of each tile he makes. You will be very happy with his work.
These rock hard, durable tiles are made from a centuries old process. These tiles are made from marble and Portland cement and natural earth pigments. The tiles are made in three layers which undergo intense pressure from a mechanical hydraulic press. Our tile are not fired. The tiles undergo hydrolysis and harden when soaked in a vat of water. Each tile is hand made individually and is a work of art. There will always be slight subtle variations in each tile and that is a part of the charm.
